SYNOPSIS:

p style="text-align: justify;">This edition of DEMONS BY DAYLIGHT includes, for the first time, the first drafts of several stories included in the volume, as well as the texts of others that were not included. Those drafts are of interest both intrinsically and in terms of their significance in charting Campbell’s remarkable development as a writer in a matter of a few short years. 

Several would be considered quite competent weird tales had they been written by anyone other than Campbell; as it stands, these drafts pale in comparison with the final drafts, which are infinitely more skilful, subtle, and unified.

It is past time for this seminal volume to be brought back into print, and the ancillary materials it includes make it a treasure for anyone interested in Ramsey Campbell and weird fiction as a whole.
