ABOUT THE BOOK
A MAN APPEARS AS IF DEAD outside the home of Jonette Yun and David Wagner, a “stranger” Jonette suddenly realises she once knew, and who has no right to look exactly as he did as a young academic and religious leader almost two decades back. The sight of him is unnerving enough, but when Jonette disappears on an evening run David is forced to discover a much greater terror to the secret of that stranger. His journey to unravel the stranger’s mystery leads him into a disturbing and terrifying world where an ageless shapeshifter can demand and take everything it wants. But David understands every human dread must have an origin and source, and when he travels to a secluded monastery high in the snow-capped Italian Alps he discovers far more to fear—and fight—than he could ever have imagined.
